Highlighting our favourite vegan and cruelty free cleaning products.
Cleaning, well, its certainly a chore many of us could happily do without, but at least if we're using vegan and cruelty free products we're not doing any harm to animals or our environment while we're at it. With cruel animal testing in some cleaning brands, as consumers lets encourage more companies to go cruelty free by voting with our £s.
There are lots of vegan and cruelty free cleaning products out there to choose from, so we've tried and tested lots of different options over the last few months - seriously more cleaning than we'd like - to highlight our favourite vegan and cruelty free cleaning products to help you to switch to a kinder way to clean!
It sounds like a cliche, but people really do comment that our house smells lovely when we use it. Its vegan and uses only cruelty free products and providers. It arrives with three small, recyclable glass bottles of concentrate which smell amazing and it cleans well too.
Cons? Its not the cheapest, and I'm told you can make something similar yourself, but I don't have the skills (or time...) to do that.
All the SMOL products are vegan and cruelty free. There are laundry capsules, dishwasher tablets and a multi purpose spray. We've tried them all and all do the job. We've continued to use the dishwasher tablets since we trialled them a few months ago and have them on a regular subscription, which is helpful, one less thing in life to think about! The dishes come out clean, not grainy and the glasses are nice and clear too.
The cleaning spray works and it has an ok, inoffensive smell that does the job. Shop for SMOL products here.
Ecover and Method -
Both brands are vegan and cruelty free but they're owned by SC Johnson who do test on animals. They do still have the leaping bunny symbol though - so its a personal choice on whether you would support them or not. For me, they're not perfect but a better choice than some alternatives out there, plus they're readily available in most uk supermarkets and do a decent job.

Cruelty free, vegan and sustainable, Astonish have lots of different products. We haven't tried them all yet, but the window cleaner does a great job (we have had some streaky failures with other products - it could be our technique but the Astonish one is easy to use). The Oxy Active Fabric Stain Remover managed to get a bolognaise stain out of my MIL's vintage white tablecloth, which was a relief...! All the Astonish products we've tried so far do a decent job, and don't have an overpowering scent.
You can browse the Astonish range of products here.
