Finding vegan and cruelty free shampoo is harder than it sounds! Lots of us want to do the right thing and would choose vegan and cruelty free product if they were easier to spot (they're not always a more expensive option), but with a sea of options and no compass, its a sure way to help accidentally support less considerate companies. So we've researched and tried loads of vegan and cruelty free shampoos and picked our favourites for you here.
First up is Attitude super leaves volume shampoo. We like the whole Attitude vegan and cruelty free brand, founded in 2006 to 'raise the bar', they talk a great game about their revolutionary packaging, refills and eco friendly credentials. Sounds great, we're loving their company ethos. But does it do the job? It did for me - my hair is quite fine, so this volume boosting shampoo had its work cut out. But it does well, giving my hair some extra oomph and a bit of shine. It doesn't have a strong fragrance if that's important to you - for me the extra volume is worth it so I'm ok with it. You can buy it from Amazon here. Its not the cheapest but the bottle is BIG and it lasts for ages.
Faith in Nature - is one of our traditionally favourite vegan and cruelty free shampoos. There is always a bottle of this in our shower as a go to for the kids or when I feel my hair needs a deeper cleanse - it also hydrating and smells good. It gives my hair a lift if I don't use it all the time - with my finer hair if I use it too often it leaves my hair a little unruly, but if yours if on the thicker side then it could be perfect for more regular use. Shop for yours here.
Coco and Eve - Like a virgin shampoo. The bottle is so pretty it's hard to resist! But the stuff inside is great too thankfully - it's now one of my top choices for vegan and cruelty free shampoo. Created in Bali with natural ingredients from eco-conscious suppliers, they're saying all the right things, but is it any good? Yep, its actually a great shampoo - it smells lovely and I only need to wash my hair every 3 or 4 days when I use this, amazing! You can buy it here while stocks last.
BEES of BRITAIN Shampoo - well there's a lot to love about this brand and this vegan and cruelty free shampoo. With no sulfates or parabens it's great for sensitive skin plus they give 5% of their profit to bee and pollinator conservation charities worldwide, while supporting British beekeepers and bees! Talk about music to our ears! Their shampoo takes a wee bit of getting used to because it doesn't work into a lather, which is unusual but once you get used to it, it feels pretty good! My hair feels less stripped and is easier to comb through. It has easily become one of our favourites. Shop for yours here (and save some bees at the same time!).
